Sturdy, 6 mil white vinyl tape will hold up under the heaviest duty wear.  The non-hardening adhesive bonds well to most surfaces over a wide temperature range, maintaining a watertight seal in most weather conditions.  It is easily dispensed by hand for quick and secure applications.
